KZN farmers urged to creatively source water
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
While the KZN Department of Agriculture says it is doing its best to assist farmers affected by the drought it is urging them to also find creative ways of sourcing water for their livestock.

This as an initiative has been started where people travelling inland from the coast are being asked to bring bottles of drinking water to help locals and animals in drought-stricken areas.
The department's Lelethu Manentsa says the R140 million in drought aid reserved for farmers is nowhere near enough to cover everyone who is affected.
He says at least R2.2 billion is needed for farmers in the province..
"R140 Million is like a drop in the ocean, but we had to do something as a department. The department is still in talks with national government to see what other relief can be provided for farmers in the province", he said.
