23-year-old Natasha Conabeer was last seen by friends leaving her Florida Road flat in Durban two weeks ago.

She told them she was going home to Inanda, north of the city.

"I phoned her friends to ask where she was. They said they don't know, they thought she was with us."

"My heart is so broken," said Conabeer.

"I can't explain the pain that I'm feeling. I can't even eat I am so traumatised."

Umbilo Saps have opened a missing persons docket.

News of Conabeer's disappearance comes as South Africans across the country speak out against acts of violence against women and children.

The issue was thrust into the spotlight again following the rape and murder of UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana.

In KwaZulu-Natal, police are also investigating the murder of four children in the Wyebank area west of Durban yesterday afternoon.

Police are searching for the father of the children.

Three of the children were hanged at the home. The fourth child, a teenager, was found hanging from a tree in New Germany late last night.
