KZN families hopeful bodies of drowned loved ones will be found

A KZN families are still holding out hope that the bodies of their loved ones, who are presumed to have drowned, will be found.

In Pietermaritzburg, the Mazibuko family and search and rescue officials have been looking for Gideon Mayisa.
The 43-year-old was in a vehicle with his brother's wife and child when their vehicle was swept into the Henley Dam on New Year's Eve.
Officials managed to recover the bodies of the woman and the three-year-old.

Spokesperson for the family Mbongeni Mazibuko says the family is distraught.
"The family is doing very bad because the man has not been found as yet."
In Amanzimtoti, south of Durban, search and rescue officials are still looking for the body of a Johannesburg woman.
Chantel van Eeden has been missing for over two weeks.
It's understood that van Eeden was with her colleagues when she was hit by a wave at a beach and pulled in.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Renegades Search and Rescue's Dawn Gounden says her colleagues, tried to help pull Eeden from the ocean but failed.
"There's been continuous aerial searches documented, ground searches, by K9. The Police has worked timelessly to get information with other polices within the area as well."
