KZN Education warns of PPE tender scam
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
The KZN Education Department is warning the public not to fall victim of a tender scam making the rounds in the province.

It's said the scammers call tender applicants telling them they have been awarded a tender to supply personal protective equipment.
They are then told the tender will be awarded on condition that payment of about R50 000 is first made.
The department's Muzi Mahlambi says there are certain things applicants need to be on the lookout for.
"As a department when we call you we do not use a private number, secondly we write you an email", he said.
"So people must be careful. This has been happening for more than a week now as we've had people coming to our offices excited believing they have been awarded tenders", Mahlambi said.
