KZN Education, Transport officials assess scene of Dalton fatal crash

KZN Education MEC, Mthandeni Dlungwana is visiting the scene of the crash that claimed the lives of six pupils.

Dlungwana is accompanied by Transport and Community safety MEC, Mxolisi Kaunde, to assess the scene where two taxis collided in the Dalton area, north east of Pietermaritzburg, yesterday afternoon.
KZN police say they are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Education spokesperson, Muzi Mahlambi says the MEC will today visit the police station for a briefing on the fatal crash.
"The MEC for education will visit the police station for a briefing of what happened in the accident that claimed the lives of six learners in Dalton. He will move to the scene of the accident and will have a meeting with families of the bereaved - so that they will ascertain as to how to move forward with logistics leading to the funerals," he says.
