KZN Education to honour pay progression before month’s end

National Treasury has granted the KZN Department of Education's request to pay employees their pay progression before the end of December.
KwaZulu-Natal Education was delayed in paying employees the 1.5% pay progression.
Unions approached the Head of Department Nkosinathi Ngcobo to get clarity on the matter.

KZN Education spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says budget cuts caused delays.
"The Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal can confirm that with the assistance of the director-general after the head of department engaged him, National Treasury was approached with regards to the pay progression."
