KZN Education settles school feeding scheme fees
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
KZN Education says all school feeding scheme suppliers in the province have finally been paid.

The department had owed millions to some of the 1000 or so suppliers earlier this year.
It says it has now settled its debts with the caterers who have complained about the financial strain its put on their business.
The department's Kwazi Mthethwa says they had never intended to delay payments and that they did have the money.

He says one of the reasons why some service providers weren't paid on time is because their details hadn't been updated on the central database.
"There were issues of invoices that were submitted incorrectly. Starting from now, we will have a smooth running of this process," he says.
