Updated | By Nondumiso Dube
KwaZulu-Natal's Education MEC says the pledge signed by matric learners is an earnest step towards making sure this year's exams aren't marred by irregularities.
Kwazi Mshengu was speaking on Friday at the Lamontville High School in Durban on the province's readiness for the National Senior Certificate exams.
Grade 12s across the country will sit for English Paper One next Wednesday when the finals kick off.
The MEC's spokesperson Kwazi Mthethwa says there have been a number of interventions to help matric pupils.
"Contained in the state of readiness are strategies and tactics that were employed by the department in trying to prepare learners academically and administratively so we can boldly say that we are ready, its all systems go."
Last year, several matric exam papers were leaked.
