KwaZulu-Natal Education Department has assured parents they'll be kept up-to-date on the gradual return to school of pupils in the province.
On Thursday, Minister Angie Motshekga announced a revised plan for the next phase-in of learners next week.
She said on Monday only Grades R, 6 and 11 pupils would go back to school - while several other grades that had also been expected to return would stay home for a while longer.

But authorities here in KZN say only Grade 6s and 11s should go to school on Monday - while parents must keep their Grade R learners at home for the time being.
Education spokesperson, Kwazi Mthethwa says meetings are taking place.
"There is a lot of planning that goes into this to ensure their safe return and we are holding back-to-back meetings to ensure that when Grade R finally returns, they are safe. We will update the nation as we go along," he said.
