KZN's Education MEC has reassured teachers, pupils and parents that they're doing everything they can to make sure that schools are clean and safe.

As part of its phased reopening plan, Basic Education says Grade 12 and 7 pupils will return to the classroom from the 1st of June.
MEC Kwazi Mshengu's been inspecting the water tanks and hand-washing stations installed at five Ngwelezane township schools.

He says King Cetshwayo's been identified as one of the districts with water shortages at schools.
" We had to prioritise and start with some of the areas in terms of the donation of the water tank and handwashing stations. But this a programme that is continuing across the province," he said.
