Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
With the festive season done and dusted, KwaZulu-Natal has reason to celebrate further into the new year, it's to the tune of R3-billion.
That is the figure Tourism KZN says was injected into the province's economy over the holiday period.
Tourism KZN says hotels along the coast secured an almost 90% occupancy rate.
Tourism KZN's Ncumisa Mafunda says interest in the province as a holiday destination grows each year.
"We are really humbled to host as many people as we could. We still await more people to arrive all year round as we are the ultimate tourism destination.
"Together with our industry partners, we are ready to host and give our visitors an unforgettable experience in KZN," she said.
