Education Dept probes 'ghost' teacher on KZN school payroll
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education says it's looking into allegations of a 'ghost' teacher at a school in northern KZN.

Reports surfaced yesterday that someone who does not physically teach at Prince Sojiyisa High School in Nongoma has been drawing a salary every month.
It's understood the educator also holds the position of deputy principal at the school.
Spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi said they cannot comment on whether or not the incident is linked to the recent jobs-for-cash scandal pending an investigation.
"We are going to be dealing with the matter as to who punched [put him on the system] and paid this person, and the whereabouts of this person.
"Or whether there could be some internal processes [that led to how] this person appears on the school's pay-roll and is not physically there. To us for now, it's a fraud matter," he said.
