KZN DA wants Cogta MEC suspended over irregular tender
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The DA in KZN has revealed what it believes is corrupt activity involving Co-operative Governance MEC, Nomusa Dube-Ncube and her department.

DA provincial leader, Zwakele Mncwango says Dube-Ncube allowed a communications services tender in Nkandla to go to a company owned by her husband.
"The tender was for about R7,7-million over 36 months. It contravenes SCM (supply chain management) processes because they use Regulation 36 without even getting approval from the Provincial Treasury.
"It was also not budgeted for. The municipality has a capable communications officer meaning there was no need to award this contract to an external individual," Mncwango said.
Mncwango says they have also discovered that the municipal manager in Nkandla was appointed to the position without qualifications. pic.twitter.com/lMhTghKYRV

COGTA is due to hold a media briefing in Pietermaritzburg later today - where the department is expected to respond to the allegations.
Mncwango says DA has given KZN Premier 7 days to respond to call to immediately suspend COGTA MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube. pic.twitter.com/523hfJ06m6
