KZN correctional service officials fired after sex tape goes viral
Two Correctional Services officials have been fired after a video emerged showing one of them having sex with an inmate at a KwaZulu-Natal facility.
The clip, filmed at the Ncome Correctional Centre, was widely circulated online last month - leaving the Department red-faced. It's said in a statement last night, that disciplinary processes wrapped up this week.
The official who appeared in the video and a colleague - who allowed her to use her office - have both been dismissed.
The department's Singabakho Nxumalo says the inmate has also been dealt with.
"The inmate involved was also spared no mercy as he has been reclassified into a maximum category, has lost privileges and moved to another facility.
"The department of correctional services wants to reiterate that coitus acts and other forms of sexual attachments or any sexual means between officials and inmates can never be allowed nor tolerated."
