Development MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza has praised police for their swift
breakthrough in a child sex abuse case near Ladysmith.

A 38-year-old man was arrested in Matiwane village on Tuesday.
He was accused of molesting a 14-year-old boy last week.
The department says the perpetrator allegedly told the victim's family that he wanted the boy to stop his "gay tendencies".
The Social Development Department’s Mhlabunzima Memela says the suspect will appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
"We cannot afford to have such people in our society. What kind of a person abuses a child without remorse, all government efforts can not be delayed by criminals who think they have the power to destroy other people's lives.

Any abuse of a child concerns us as a department, however, we are grateful that police managed to arrest the man and they need to secure conviction so an example can be made for such people."
