KZN Cogta probes alleged corruption in uMsunduzi
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The Co-operative Governance Department says it's investigating allegations of corruption and maladministration at the uMsunduzi Municipality.
Last Month, the SA Municipal Workers' Union in that region handed over a memorandum of these allegations to the provincial Legislature.
In it, the same allegations were made against other municipalities including Mooi Mpofana and uMvoti, amongst others.
However, when the department was asked why the other municipalities weren't being investigated, spokesperson Lennox Mabaso says their investigation is unrelated to SAMWU's memorandum.
"If issues are similar then it's just a coincidence. There is nothing much I'm prepared to say, except to confirm there is an investigation," he said.
