KZN brothers sentenced for killing man at function

Three brothers have begun serving a life sentence for murdering a man at a function in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

The siblings were also convicted of assaulting seven other guests at the gathering in Greytown in May 2021.
Spokesperson for the NPA in KZN Natasha Kara says they were involved in an altercation with one of the guests and asked to leave.

Kara says they returned a short while later with weapons and dogs.
"They also assaulted other guests and instructed the dogs to bite them. Buthelezi was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on arrival. The brothers were arrested the next day, following a manhunt conducted by the Greytown SAPS."
They were sentenced in the Greytown Regional Court on Thursday.
