KZN boy survives after being flung out of train

A seven-year-old boy has miraculously survived being flung out of a train moving at high speed in Shongweni this morning.
According to Netcare911, the schoolboy had been standing in the doorway of the train but the doors had been deliberately jammed open.
It's believed that as soon as the train passed through a tunnel a vacuum effect was created, sucking the boy out the train and causing him to hit his head against a bridge.
He suffered severe head injuries.
Spokesperson, Chris Botha says the boy hung on for several hours and was only discovered by bikers this afternoon.
"This seven-year-old boy was on his own and managed to bandage his head together and crawl out of the tunnel. Some motorcyclists that were off-road racing through the tunnel and they found him and brought him out to the station and called for us.
"We went in there and managed to stabilise him. The Air Mercy helicopter had to fly in to fly him to King Edward Hospital where he is receiving further care at the moment," he said.
