KZN blood bank dangerously low on stock
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is making another appeal for people to assist
It says KwaZulu-Natal's blood banks have enough supplies for three days.
Nationally, platelet stock levels are dangerously low - with just half a day's worth of stocks are available.

SANBS's Sifiso Khoza says there was an increase in donations over Mandela Day - but these have since dropped.
"Since last week Thursday, we've been seeing a lot of donors come in because on Saturday it was Mandela Day and most people always feel the need to do something for the 67 minutes.
"But unfortunately in KZN, the stocks have gone down. We are on 3.4 days cover. In KZN we need 500 units every single day, but unfortunately, we are not getting that," says Khoza.
