KZN authorities 'ready for festive season'
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The police's Acting National Commissioner is pleased with the state of readiness by authorities in KwaZulu-Natal for the festive season.
Kgomotso Phahlane yesterday conducted a walkabout at a number of centres in Pietermaritzburg, Durban and KwaMashu - inspecting security plans and to interact with local business owners and shoppers.
Spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi says they were given insight into general concerns.
"Housebreaking, mall safety - those are the things that we are dealing with and I think we have taken cognisance of their concerns and they will be addressed but what is critical is that we also don't want to be a reactive force but a proactive one," he said.
