The ANC Women's League in KwaZulu-Natal has elected its new leadership at a conference where Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma's ANC presidential candidacy also took centre stage.

The two-day conference wrapped up in Durban yesterday.
Nonhlanhla Khoza and Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu are the new chairperson and deputy chairperson respectively.
Nonhlanhla Gabela is the provincial secretary and Fikile Khumalo her deputy.

Simelane-Zulu said Dlamini-Zuma was the league's clear choice as the party's next president.
"The decision of the women's league was informed by discussions from a branch level to region, province and national. It is a decision of the structure, its not going to be shifted just because an individual thinks they are all of a sudden available to be president," she said.
