KZN ANC wants action taken in Durban maggots case
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The ANC in KZN has weighed in on the RK Khan Hospital incident, where a patient was found with maggots in his mouth.
Sadick Ebrahim of Chatsworth had been admitted to the facility last month to be treated for gangrene.
He was found in that state by his son during a visit. Ebrahim died in hospital last week.
ANC provincial secretary, Mdumseni Ntuli says this kind of neglect is unacceptable.

He's called on the Health MEC to ensure action is taken against those involved.
"We cannot allow that in public hospitals there should be instances that are dehumanising and experiences that make our people embarrassed to be associated with the institutions of the State led by the ANC government in KwaZulu-Natal."
The Human Rights Commission is probing the matter.
