The ANC in KZN is confident new Finance Minister, Tito Mboweni will help stabilise the economy.

"The appointment of comrade, Tito Mobweni, is a great step in the right direction. He has our support as the province of KwaZulu-Natal. We believe the president has made an appropriate and strategic decision," the ANC's Mdumiseni Ntuli said.
Mboweni took over control of the public purse yesterday, after Nhlanhla Nene's resignation following his testimony at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture.
The ANC's Mdumiseni Ntuli told reporters in Durban that Mboweni will make positive contributions to Treasury.
"His appointment was informed by that understanding on the part of the president that - let's get somebody who understands where we are and has been around the system in terms of the finance portfolio.
"He brings along strong experience and knowledge about fiscal policies and what needs to be done in terms of micro and macro-economic policies," Ntuli said.
