KZN ANC pays tribute to late Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has paid tribute to our late Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources, saying she was selfless and brave to the end.

Bavelile Hlongwa died on Friday.
The 38-year-old was trying to help someone who had been in a car crash in Hammanskraal near Pretoria.
The party's Ricardo Mthembu says the youth can learn valuable lessons from her life.
Mthembu says Hlongwa fought for the rights of women and young people.

A truck ploughed into the scene and crashed into her.

The ANC leadership has since visited Hlongwa's family in her hometown of Umzinto, on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast.The party's Ricardo Mthembu says the youth can learn valuable lessons from her life.
Mthembu says Hlongwa fought for the rights of women and young people.
"We will never forget her. She will always be with us. She reflected the character of the member that we need at this trying time in our movement," he said.
