KZN ANC general council gets underway this weekend

More than 1400 delegates are expected to be at the ANC's Provincial General Council to take place this weekend at the University of Zululand in KwaDlangezwa.
Speaking in Durban earlier, Provincial Secretary Super Zuma said provincial organisational and political reports will be tabled at the general council.
He says talks in the PGC will focus on the party's failure to implement decisions it's taken.
"We want to have time frames so that we can measure our success and the performance of our leaders. This will be based on the failure to implement some of the decisions that we have taken," he said.
At the same press briefing, Zuma said the KZN ANC was calling on the eThekwini Municipality to take firm action against those implicated in the cancellation of the Social Cohesion Conference.
Zuma has denied the party had any hand in the decision following allegations that the decision came "from a high chain of command".
IFP leader, Mangosuthu Buthelezi says the conference was cancelled because he was one of the speakers.
He says Buthelezi could have handled the matter better instead of tarnishing the ANC.
"The ANC is concerned that the IFP leader conveniently did not see a necessity to engage with the ANC leadership directly on his concern but instead chose a confidential press briefing to impugn the image of the ANC."
