KwaSizabantu Mission dismisses cult claims

The KwaSizabantu Mission has denied allegations it's a cult - dismissing these claims as vicious and factually inaccurate.
The church, near Kranskop, has been accused of sexual abuse by some congregants - as well as fraud and money laundering.
The allegations came to light in an investigation by News24.
In a statement to Newswatch today - the church says it's not a cult but a rather a transparent evangelical organisation.
It says for 50 years it has helped and supported people from all walks of life.
It insists no one has been forced to stay on its premises.

On finances, the church says it takes the issue seriously and has handled monies a transparent manner.
Police have launched an investigation following the claims.
KwaSizabantu owns Aquelle bottled water - and retailer - Massmart says it's pulled the products from its shelves.
Massmart's Brian Leroni explains. "We are not planning to meet up with the bran soon we have sent them a series of questions to which we would like answers," he said.
"In addition to that, we are going to allow their internal investigations, as well as police and Human Rights Council investigations."
