Kwadukuza pulls the plug on illegal electricity connectors

The KwaDukuza Municipality has begun an operation to take those involved with illegal electrical connections off its grid.
The City has been disconnecting households and businesses that have tampered with electrical metres or have illegal connections.
Spokesperson Sphesihle Ngobese says they will no longer tolerate individuals who steal from the municipal grid.
"Over 58 million is being owed to the municipality as of September. This includes illegal connections and other losses.

He says they will be removing all those who have tampered with the grid and act decisively at ensuring that they face the full might of the law.
"All praise is due to those who pay for their services and who are honest. We will not praise those who steal energy and who are enablers of such crimes," he says.
