"The problem has been diagnosed. The problem is related to the demand. It exceeds the ability now to cope with requirements of consumers given the fact that we are now in the midst of our holiday," says Spokesperson Shami Harichunder.

Harichunder says Wards 9, 11, 14, 15, 26 and 29 in the greater Groutville area have been affected.
He's appealed for patience, adding that they're working with local officials to meet the increasing demand for water over this period.
"The problem has manifested itself below pressure and at times no water supply to many households within these wards in KwaDukuza. Umgeni Water is working closely with Ilembe District Municipality in trying to resolve the issue."
