KwaDukuza claims R20m loss in electricity

KwaDukuza Mayor Lindile Nhaca says she has confidence in a new programme aimed at tackling electricity theft and illegal dumping in the north coast municipality.
She says energy losses are in the region of R20 million a month.
The mayor says under the programme they'll be launching, areas found to be running on electricity that was stolen will be disconnected.

"There is a programme which deals with disconnection because they are experiencing an energy lose of an average of R20 million per month.
"Big businesses which are involved in those activities, the gated estates and even government departments are not paying for our electricity."
