King Zwelithini calls on youth to prove they are leaders
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
King Goodwill Zwelithini says the time for young people to prove they are worthy leaders of our nation is now.
He is delivering his speech to mark the opening of the KZN legislature in Pietermaritzburg - a precursor to the State Of the Province Address to be delivered by Premier Willies Mchunu tomorrow.
The king says the youth need to understand they are no longer considered the leaders of tomorrow - but that their time has come to take over the reins.

"The relationship between the older generation and the youth is extremely complex. Nevertheless, the tension between the belief in the temerity and innovative thinking of the youth - and on the other hand, the fear of change, and I believe what seems to be the loss of norms," he said.
The king has also called upon government to adopt an approach that will see it go into troubled communities and involve them in various campaigns to aid in their socio-economic development.
