King Shaka airport gears up for Durban to London flights
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
Preparations are underway at the King Shaka International Airport to launch a British Airways direct flight between Durban and London.
The direct flights are expected to take off on the 29th of October.
Tourism MEC, Sihle Zikalala made the big announcement at the start of Africa's Travel Indaba in the city yesterday.
The Airports Company South Africa's Colin Naidoo says they have been preparing for some time now.
"It's exciting to know that you can have breakfast in Durban and supper in London on the same day. Our airport is fully compliant to handle the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft that's going to be landing on the 29th of October this year," he said.
