King MisuZulu ’sorry’ for battle over throne

AmaZulu King Misuzulu KaZwelithini has apologised to the Zulu nation for the ongoing legal battles over the throne.

Addressing the nation attending the commemoration of the 143th anniversary of Isandlwana battle in Nquthu on Saturday, he said he knows that the delays are affecting the alter of the Zulu nation.
Speaking in isiZulu, he thanked supporters who have continuously stood by him throughout this difficult time.
“I only wish this issue of the throne can be resolved soon, because it’s only a few people who are against us.
“This does not sit well with us, because we have been going in and out of the courts.
“This is a taboo because we still even respect the late king. But we are still forging doing what he said we must do.”
Earlier, AmaZulu Traditional Prime Minister, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, introduced King MisuZulu as the leader of the Zulu nation.
Commenting on the ongoing royal legal dispute over the throne, Prince Mangosuthu said the King is on the throne.
The prince took a swipe at Prince Mbonisi Zulu, who has been engaged in a legal battle with the King .
This after the Pietermaritzburg High Court dismissed with costs an attempt by some members of the AmaZulu royal members to stop King MisuZulu from addressing the Battle of Isandlwana commemoration in his capacity as King.
