Kidnapped two-year-old Tongaat boy back with his mum
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Detectives have found a two-year-old boy who was kidnapped earlier this week from his home in Tongaat, north of Durban.
It's understood the child was last with his 35-year-old mother at their home in the Hambanathi Matsheni complex on Tuesday morning.
Police say a man who is known to the family arrived at the house, accosted the mother and threatened her with a knife.
The woman ran out of the house to call for help when the suspect snatched the boy.

Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says the child was found abandoned at Amaoti informal settlement, some 20 kilometres away.
"The suspect is still at large, but the police are still working tirelessly to locate his whereabouts. The baby was taken to hospital for medical examination. He's been reunited with his mother," she said.
