Keep close watch of children on beaches: Durban Metro police
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Durban Metro police says if parents are taking their children to the beach these holidays, don't take your eyes of them.
They've issued a message to parents and guardians, saying more than 250 children were separated from their families on the city's beaches this past weekend.
Metro Police spokesperson, Parbhoo Sewpersadh says thanks to their identification armbands - the distraught children were eventually reunited with their parents.
"They have a wrist band with details - so that we can identify or contact the parent. Parents need to be absolutely vigilant. They need to know where their children are playing and where they are," he says.
