Judgment set for Durban cop accused of killing ex-girlfriend

Judgment in the case against a former eThekwini metro police officer, accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, is set to be handed down in the Durban High Court on Tuesday.
Twenty-nine-year-old Zinhle Muthwa's body was found on the side of a road in the Ndaya Reserve on the KZN South Coast on New Year’s Day last year.
The state claims Ndumiso Khumalo shot and killed 29-year-old Muthwa on New Year’s Eve.
It is alleged that the former constable dumped her bruised body the day after.

Shortly after his arrest, it was confirmed that Khumalo worked in the Durban Metro Police Multi-Operational Response Team.
It's understood that he worked as a metro police officer for some five years.
He resigned from his position in January last year.
