Judgement in Zuma's High Court bid to avoid jail time to be handed down
Updated | By Christelle du Toit
The Pietermaritzburg High Court will be handing down its judgment in the case between former president Jacob Zuma and the State Capture Commission on Friday.
Zuma had asked the court to interdict the Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, from arresting him, as ordered by the Constitutional Court following his conviction for contempt of court after refusing to appear before commission of inquiry into state capture.
Zuma eventually handed himself over to authorities on Wednesday night and the Defend our Democracy campaign said he should serve his time until such a time all his legal processes are resolved.

The Department of Correctional Services has, in the meantime, opened a criminal case in connection with the leaking of pictures of Zuma in prison.
The former president has also brought a rescission application to the Constitutional court, which it agreed to hear on Monday.
Judgement is expected to be handed down shortly before lunch on Friday.
