Jordaan breaks silence on FIFA scandal
Updated | By Doreen Loubser
Nelson Mandela Bay executive mayor and South African Football Association president, Danny Jordaan has broken his silence on the FIFA corruption scandal.
Jordaan indicated that he will deal with the issue when the time is right.
He says his name does not appear on the United States indictment, claiming it has been inserted for party political reasons.
He says the $10-million paid to Concaf as an alleged bribe for the 2010 World Cup was paid out of Zurich and not South Africa.
Jordaan says he has worked with many companies, handling billions of rands.
"When the time comes, I'll deal with this matter in a comprehensive way and then look at those who really try to tarnish my name and my reputation. This has angered me and when you're angry the best is to protect yourself and be quiet. So the time will come where I'll be able to deal with this matter," he said.
