Booysen is testifying before the inquiry, which is probing whether Jiba and senior advocate, Lawrence Mrwebi are fit to hold office.

Booysen and his former colleagues were charged with racketeering, murder and attempted murder.

In 2014, the High Court found the decision by Jiba to charge them had been irrational and unlawful.

The charges were later re-instated.

Today, Booysen told the Mokgoro Inquiry that when they were investigating KZN businessman - Thoshan Panday - a decision was made to freeze the balance of 60-million-rand worth of contracts that Panday had with the police.

He says later Edward Zuma met with him and told him he was Panday's silent partner and wasn't getting his dividends because of the remaining 15-million-rand payment that had been frozen.
