Jacob Zuma Foundation says former president satisfied with recusal application

The Jacob Zuma Foundation says the former president is satisfied with his recusal application brought before the Pietermaritzburg High Court this week.
Judgment that could affected Billy Downer's involvement as lead prosecutor in the corruption case has tentatively been set down for the 26th of October.
Zuma believes Downer cannot be impartial and has accused him of leaking confidential information to journalists - among other things.
The State's Wim Trengrove argued that Zuma's application was based on conspiracy theories and denied that Downer leaked information - including Zuma's medical records - to reporters.
The foundation's Mzwanele Manyi says the former president was upbeat and pleased with his team's handling of the case.
"You could see that the NPA had come with a different agenda. They had already subpoenaed all kinds of people, which was quite premature.
"There was no reason for the NPA to have subpoenaed everybody else to discuss medical issues which did not arise because the legal team of president Zuma has not said anything about seeking any postponement.
"So there was no reason for all of those people to have been subpoenaed."
