It's a crucial time for SA: analyst

Giving insights following the release of the State of Capture report, a political analyst says South Africa is approaching a tipping point.

Members of civil society, politicians and the public at large took to the streets yesterday under the banner of the Save South Africa movement. 


Mobilising civil society, the likes of activists such as Ela Ghandi, retired Judge Thumba Pillay and Albertina Luthuli converged at the Gugu Dlamini Park in the Durban CBD


While in Pretoria, DA supporters - led by Mmusi Maimane - marched to the North Gauteng High Court as proceedings on the release of the report got underway. Calling for the resignation of the president, the EFF marched through the streets of the Pretoria CBD.

Imraan Buccus believes we're seeing the rise of a civilian wave of change. 


"South African citizens have always been active whether they participate in state processes, processes of governance or protest. I think it's encouraging that civil society and the media in South Africa have always played a critical role. I think what we're seeing in South Africa is a realignment of forces," he said.
