Investing in forests is 'investing in Africa'

Dlamini-Zuma earlier today addressed delegates at the World Forestry Congress currently underway in Durban.
She says militant groups have been known to use illegally exploited forest products such as timber and fuel wood to finance their activities.
A United Nations report last year indicated that timber, charcoal and wildlife products were amongst the highest commodities rebels trade with.
''We need to strengthen forest governance structures at all levels and enhance regional collaboration of forest resource management - to enhance our surveillance capabilities, track and hold the activities of these destructive groups,'' she said.
