Interministerial committee established to probe Ugu water woes

Premier Sihle Zikalala says KwaZulu-Natal's budgets will be reviewed in order to prioritise Ugu's water challenges.
He's was speaking during an engagement session to outline a plan of action to address the district's water crisis.
"To ensure accountability and to monitor progress, we have established an interministerial committee to perform an oversight over all these tasks."
Zikalala's condemned the violence linked to supply issues.

Entrances to the south coast town of Umzinto were blocked when residents held demonstrations this week.
"We condemn the use of violence and firing of live ammunition at protesters. As a result, some of them got injured.
"There are elements of vigilantism and we would like to ensure that if there are tensions, we address those tensions through engagement."
