Inquiry into alleged rape at Durban special needs school

Education officials are liaising with the parents of an autistic boy who was allegedly raped at a Durban North school.
Police have confirmed an inquiry has been opened for further investigation.
Provincial education department spokesperson, Muzi Mahlambi says the principal of the Golden Hours Special Needs School, where the incident allegedly occurred, has also filed a full report.
Police in Durban have launched an inquiry into claims by parents that their son, who has autism, was raped at a special needs school in Durban North.
"We can confirm that we have opened an inquiry at Durban Central Police for further investigation after a mute boy was allegedly raped in the Durban North area. Once we ascertain that the boy was raped, we will then open a case so that the suspect will be arrested," said SAPS spokesperson, Thulani Zwane.
