Inquest docket opened into Jozini fisherman's death
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
Jozini police are probing the death of a local fisherman whose body was found the area.
The man's family reported him missing on Saturday evening.
He'd left home to go fishing in the morning and hadn't returned.
SAPS spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says policemen from the Search and Rescue Unit were immediately called out to look for him but without any luck.
Community members eventually found his body yesterday.
"The members of the search and rescue and K9 unit responded to a complaint of drowning at Jozini. It's alleged that a 26-year-old man went to the river and never returned home. The search was conducted again and his body was found. An inquest docket was then opened for investigation at Jozini police station," Gwala said.
