Inquest after wall collapse kills man in South Coast

Scottburgh police are investigating an inquest docket into a wall collapse that killed a construction worker yesterday.

It’s understood four other men were hurt while working at a building site when a three metre high wall crashed down on them. A 29-year-old man who sustained severe head and upper body injuries died on the scene.
Nqobile Gwala speaks for SAPS in KZN.
"It is alleged that at around 11:30am three men were carrying out their duties at a building site when the wall collapsed on them", she said.
"Three men sustained serious injuries and a 29-year-old man was declared 'dead' a the scene and in inquest docket was opened at Scottburgh police station for further investigation", Gwala said.
KZN's Department of Labour says they have sent over inspection teams, to do a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident.
