Infant killed in KwaMbonambi house fire

There's an investigation into the cause of a fire that killed an infant in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

Emergency services raced to KwaMbonambi on Monday night after a house caught alight.

KZN police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says two other children aged two and three were rescued from the inferno by their grandmother.
"Unfortunately, a four-month-old baby was sleeping in the bedroom where the fire started and the baby was burned.

"The cause of the fire is unknown. An inquest docket is being investigated KwaMbonambi SAPS."
