Increased traffic into KZN ahead of long weekend
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The N3 Toll Concession says it expects traffic volumes
coming into KwaZulu-Natal to begin picking up on Friday afternoon ahead of the
Freedom Day long weekend.

The anticipated increase in the number of vehicles on the busy route comes as parts of province are heavy rain.
Coastal areas and the adjacent interior have been placed on a Yellow Level 4 alert for disruptive rainfall, with the South African Weather Service warning of heavy downpours most of Friday.
N3 Toll Concession Chief Operating Officer Thania Dhoogra has urged motorists to be cautious.

"Road users are reminded to plan ahead for rapid changes in weather and traffic on the route, which may contribute to congestion and delays.
"In addition, highly visible law enforcement officials will be maintaining a presence all along the route and will be conducting various road safety interventions, including road worthiness checks and driver compliance checks at strategic locations, all along the entry toll route."
