Increase in 'power dog' theft
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
The NSPCA is urging power breed dog owners in KwaZulu-Natal to be extra cautious, saying there has been an increase in the number of these specific breeds stolen.

It says power breeds appear to be the target in Durban.
Nadia Hansa, who is with the NSPCA says these animals often end up in dog fighting rings.
"Unless they can be rescued, these dogs will live very brutal lives. [They are often kept chained or caged and used for fights against multiple other dogs," she said.
"Dogs can be very severely injured and could die as a result."
