iLembe officials working to restore water supply
iLembe officials are appealing for patience from residents, saying efforts to restore water supply to parts of the district municipality are under way.
The Sundumbili waterworks in Mandeni were affected when a transformer blew around midday on Sunday, burning a portion of the clear water pump station.
The municipality's Xolelwa Mazibuko says Eskom will assess the extent of the damages.

"With that treatment, we are seeing the one and only water treatment plant in Mandeni that supplies all the wards in the local municipality.
"With that pump station being off, we cannot pump water from the treatment plant to the resevoir which supplies the whole area. With the current level that we have will last us today and tomorrow. Once those levels are finished, we won't have water in Mandeni."
