IFP to hold memorial service for Buthelezi on Wednesday

Hundreds of mourners are expected to descend on Ulundi to pay their respects to the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
A memorial service will be held at the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Regional Sports Complex on Wednesday for the late IFP founder and Traditional Prime Minster to the Zulu Monarch and Nation.
The party says preparations are also underway for his funeral on Friday.

Buthelezi died on Saturday at the age of 95.
Meanwhile. the Mangosuthu University of Technology has temporarily suspended academic activities during the mourning period.
The Umlazi campus says it will also host a memorial service on Thursday for students, staff and the community.

Chancellor Sandile Zungu says Buthelezi's legacy lives on in the lives of the marginalised.
"We are deeply saddened by the departure of the person who has done so much for our institution, so much for the future of a black kid. The institution stands as a huge tower being in an environment of wonderful knowledge amongst other ones."
